Where can I get the current version of Alfred?

In the Mac App Store, you'll find an older version of Alfred (1.2) which is no longer updated. To make the most of Alfred's features, download Alfred 3 from http://alfredapp.com. It's free and frequently updated to make the most of new OS X features.

You can also upgrade Alfred by purchasing a Powerpack license to take advantage of numerous fantastic features, as well as workflows.

To use Alfred Remote, you'll need to use Alfred 2.6+ from our website, as Remote is not compatible with older versions of Alfred.

Why isn't the Mac App Store version updated?

In June 2012, Apple announced a change in requirements for apps on the App Store. As such, Alfred (both free and the Powerpack) is exclusively available from http://alfredapp.com.

Here's a blog post explaining why we chose to keep Alfred outside the App Store and use Apple's Gatekeeper approach instead.
